“Fighting has been going on all over
the world as long as there has been any form of life on earth. It
seems to be the natural order of life. Even though we have reached an
intellect that you would think would allow us to no longer need to
fight, we just do not seem to be able to control our survival
instincts. It is obvious to me that we have the intellect, technology
and natural resources to make every one on earth well off. We may
need to use our intellect to control our population, to accomplish
every one being well off, but we do have the intellect to do so. It
seems as though our animal instincts are in control. Some times it
seem that we have made a little progress since the beginning of
mankind, but not much. I wonder what it will take? At times our
compassion shows through and gives one hope. I guess all we can do is
to continue to work in that directions when the opportunity presents
itself.”
